Bridgeport Harbor Station
Bridgeport, CT
The Bridgeport Harbor Station is a coal and oil fired electric generating station with a capacity of 553-megawatts. Blakeslee Arpaia Chapman has performed maintenance and plant outage services there on a regular basis. The services provided over the years include: structural and mechanical repairs to the coal handling equipment; rebuilding the saltwater recirculation pumps; repairing the precipitator hopper valves; replacing heaters in the 7 million gallon oil tanks; installing new traveling water screen units; rigging equipment of all types throughout the plant; and performing major modifications to the pulverizer exhauster gearbox and motor arrangement. Downtime at an electric generating station can be very costly. As a result, Blakeslee is counted on to perform a quality job in a timely manner to keep the equipment up and running.

Performance is a key indicator for me, and Blakeslee Arpaia Chapmans past performance is very good. They respond immediately in emergencies, and their multi-faceted skills enable them to design-build very effectively on jobs that require a lot of coordination and planning.
